About Hugh Nguyen 

Hugh was born in 1967 in Nha Trang, Vietnam.  His father was an American military veteran.  In 1975, Hugh’s family came to America, leaving Saigon as political refugees from the war. After spending several months at Camp Pendleton, they were sponsored by members of a Lutheran Church in El Centro, California.  The family moved to Orange County in 1979 and has lived here for 30 years.  Hugh graduated from Saddleback High School and attended Santa Ana College where he enrolled in the Business Administration Program and received a Manager’s Certificate.  Hugh also attended Orange County’s Leadership Academy at Chapman University.

Hugh started working at the Orange County Clerk-Recorder’s Office under Clerk-Recorder Gary Granville in 1994.  Hugh worked in that office for over 12 years, rising to become the Chief Deputy Recorder and serving in that capacity for 8 years.  Hugh was promoted in 2006 to the position of Assistant Clerk of the Board of Supervisors, where he is currently employed. Hugh Nguyen understands the value of teamwork and providing the highest level of customer service to the citizens of Orange County.

I love sports and going to the the movies. I coached Irvine Pony Baseball for 10 years. Hugh married his high school sweetheart and they have two wonderful children and reside in Santa Ana.
